Staff Mobile QA Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own manual and automated end-to-end testing for a regulated medical device platform, spanning mobile UI to physical hardware
• Build and maintain robust automation suites using Maestro and Playwright across native iOS, Android, and web interfaces
• Drive test strategy, traceability, and verification evidence to support IEC 62304 and FDA submission requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mobile, frontend, backend, firmware, and regulatory departments
• Manage defect reproduction, triage, and verification of fixes against physical hardware

Requirements

• 7+ years of QA engineering experience, specifically within safety-critical or highly regulated environments
• Proven experience designing and owning end-to-end test strategies for production mobile applications on iOS and Android
• Deep, hands-on experience with Maestro for mobile UI test automation, including CI pipeline integration
• Extensive experience with manual testing, exploratory testing, and edge-case validation for connected devices
• Proficiency in API and contract testing using tools such as Postman, Newman, or REST Assured
• Strong discipline in maintaining traceability by linking test cases to requirements in JIRA and Xray
• Experience with mobile device farms and cloud testing platforms like BrowserStack or AWS Device Farm

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of IEC 62304, IEC 62366, and FDA Software Validation guidance
• Experience testing hardware-integrated systems, including BLE connectivity and embedded firmware
• Familiarity with Appium for cross-platform mobile test automation
• Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, Gatling, or JMeter
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and test management tools like TestRail
