Staff Mechanical Operator

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical cooling and mechanical systems including chillers, cooling towers, CRACs/CRAHs, CDUs, dry coolers, and pumps
• Enforce LOTO, confined-space, and refrigerant-handling safety protocols
• Develop, review, and execute MOPs, EOPs, and AOPs for planned and emergency mechanical work
• Coordinate third-party mechanical contractors on site
• Monitor BMS for cooling performance, alarm response, and capacity
• Maintain accurate as-builts and P&IDs after modifications
• Perform design and submittal reviews and support new construction and capacity upgrades
• Take personal ownership of the thermal health of supported data halls

Requirements

• Experience with mechanical and cooling systems in mission-critical environments
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting critical cooling plants (chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC, CDUs, pumps) in 24/7 environments
• Ability to write and execute high-risk mechanical MOPs
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs and submittals for design review
• Commitment to thermal precision for AI workloads

Preferred Qualifications

• Hyperscale or large data center operations experience
• Direct liquid cooling and CDU experience
• Refrigerant handling certification
• Knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9
