Staff Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of next-generation products from design concept to manufacturing release, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost targets are met
• Lead mechanical design and analysis for components surrounding micro-electronics, adhering to industrial design visions and manufacturing constraints
• Create complex SolidWorks CAD models to enable simulation, prototyping, and mass production qualification
• Generate technical documentation including 3D files, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Drive end-to-end DFM coordination across multiple vendors to deliver scalable, high-yield production
• Design testing protocols and validation plans, performing root cause analyses to resolve technical issues
• Mentor junior mechanical engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Travel internationally up to 20% of the time to work with suppliers and contract manufacturers

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in the design, documentation, and validation of complex mechanical parts for high-volume consumer electronics
• 5+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience involving advanced assemblies and complex configuration management
• 5+ years of experience implementing CAE tools (FEA static/dynamic and thermal simulation)
• 5+ years of experience working with Tier 1 and 2 contract manufacturers in Asia and North America
• Extensive experience with injection molding, die castings, and other high-volume manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Six Sigma statistical methods, including RSS tolerance stack-up and CPK process capability
• Proven track record of launching at least 3 major products through the full development lifecycle
