Staff Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of precision mechanisms, material conveyance, and fluid-handling systems
• Create and manage large assembly CAD models encompassing static structure and fluidic systems
• Apply fluid mechanics and heat transfer knowledge to optimize system performance
• Select and specify critical hardware including pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, and valves
• Integrate, install, and troubleshoot system instrumentation
• Own the creation and configuration management of P&ID documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on manufacturing and DFM using GD&T
• Develop test plans and perform development testing for verification and validation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in mechanical design and system development
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, or Creo) and PDM/PLM environments
• Strong background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer
• Hands-on experience specifying and troubleshooting pumps, tanks, and heat exchangers
• Experience with development testing, failure analysis, and debugging complex systems
• Deep understanding of manufacturing methods and Design for Manufacturability
• Demonstrated experience with FEA and/or CFD
• Ability to read electrical schematics/drawings
• Experience working in fast-paced, startup environments
