About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Own the electromechanical design of battery products, including high voltage distribution, isolation, grounding, and enclosures
  • Design and optimize high voltage joints for reliability and performance
  • Address challenges related to electronics packaging, electrical isolation, sealing, and thermal regulation
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and cross-functional interface design
  • Perform mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, and design for assembly/test
  • Manage design from conception through mass-production
  • Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions
  • Develop electromechanical systems for test stand safety and simplification

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's or 5+ years with a Master's
  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical design with CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, NX, etc.)
  • Expertise in cost modeling and multi-physics simulations (thermal, CFD, structural)
  • Strong fundamentals in GD&T and first principles hand calculations
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing, fabrication, and prototyping
  • Understanding of power distribution, electrical circuits, and protection devices
  • Understanding of creepage and clearance analysis and standards (IEC, UL, etc.)
  • Ability to model resistive losses and run current density analysis for busbar optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electrical standards (NEC)
  • Experience with battery and power conversion standards (UL9540, UL1741)
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
