Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems, including plastic, metal, and soft goods components integrated with novel sensors and actuators
• Drive designs across the entire development lifecycle, including brainstorming, CAD, prototyping, testing, and production ramp in Asia
• Shape product direction by collaborating with industrial design, marketing, product teams, and company leadership
• Solve cross-functional problems by working with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analysis and testing to ensure designs meet product goals

Requirements

• 8+ years of consumer product design experience
• Deep knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration
• Proven track record of shipping high-volume consumer products and providing manufacturing support in Asia
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and simulation tools such as Solidworks, NX, or Creo
• Expertise in DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
• Strong understanding of root cause analysis, DOEs, and quality measuring techniques
• BSME degree required; MS preferred
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week
