Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the autonomy roadmap across multiple circuits and facilities to decide which unit operations to automate next.
• Define how control models are validated and certified safe to deploy on real refining equipment.
• Set the standards for simulators and the modeling stack to ensure controllers are reproducible and safe.
• Solve complex modeling and control problems including non-stationarity and multi-objective optimization.
• Partner with leadership on capital and operational decisions and mentor engineers across the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years in machine learning engineering or 6+ years with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience with production ML or control systems in physical, industrial, robotics, or control domains.
• Deep expertise in reinforcement learning, simulation, digital twins, and closing sim-to-real gaps.
