Staff Layout Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop critical analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital blocks, including full chip level integration support.
• Perform layout verification tasks such as LVS, DRC, and Antenna checks, ensuring high-quality documentation.
• Lead project planning, including area/time estimation, scheduling, and delegation to meet milestones in a multi-project environment.
• Guide and review the work of junior and senior team members regarding sub-block level layouts.
• Communicate effectively with global engineering teams to ensure the success of layout projects.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design using advanced CMOS processes (Planar, FinFET).
• BE or MTech in Electronic/VLSI Engineering or a related field.
• Expertise in Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphic Calibre DRC/LVS.
• Hands-on experience creating layouts for critical blocks such as Temperature sensors, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, Bandgap, Charge Pumps, and Differential Amplifiers.
• Strong knowledge of analog layout fundamentals, including matching, electro-migration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, and IR-drop.
• Ability to understand and implement design constraints regarding speed, capacitance, power, and area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple tape-outs.
• Proven track record of managing multiple layout projects while maintaining strict quality checks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills specifically related to the physical verification of custom layouts.
