Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable virtualization platform to support high-density compute and GPU workloads
• Lead the evolution of hypervisor infrastructure toward KVM/QEMU-based architectures
• Define standards for VM lifecycle management, performance isolation, and resource allocation
• Optimize virtualization for high-performance workloads, including NUMA alignment, CPU pinning, and GPU passthrough
• Partner with networking and storage teams to integrate high-throughput systems like SR-IOV and RDMA
• Build automation for hypervisor deployment, image pipelines, and cluster scaling
• Troubleshoot deep system-level performance issues across compute, memory, storage, and network layers

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering
• Deep expertise in Linux-based virtualization, specifically KVM/QEMU and libvirt
• Strong knowledge of CPU scheduling, NUMA architectures, and memory management
• Experience designing and operating virtualization platforms at scale (hundreds of hosts)
• Solid Linux networking fundamentals, including bridges, bonding, and VLANs
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in public or private cloud/CSP environments
• Familiarity with GPU passthrough (VFIO) and SR-IOV
• Experience integrating virtualization with Kubernetes or bare metal provisioning systems
• Exposure to distributed storage systems like Ceph or Weka
• Experience working in high-performance or low-latency environments
