Staff Industrial Designer

Responsibilities

• Generate innovative product concepts through ideation, competitive assessments, and user need identification
• Develop designs using digital sketching, technical drawings, 3D CAD, renderings, and hand-built models
• Communicate design intent through visual storytelling to gain project team acceptance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and marketing, to ensure manufacturability and brand alignment
• Apply fundamentals of ergonomics and usability to all product solutions
• Partner with engineering and suppliers to optimize designs for injection molding, assembly, and scalable production
• Monitor design trends regarding form, materials, and technology to keep products cutting-edge
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt quickly to changing project directions

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional industrial design experience
• Proficiency in digital sketching, technical drawing, 3D CAD, and model making
• Strong understanding of form development and the ability to innovate without predecessors
• Knowledge of ergonomics, usability, and various manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication skills for presentations and visual storytelling
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Milwaukee Tool products and general tool usage
• Experience designing products that integrate into complex modular systems
