We’re a VC-backed stealth-mode company building behavioural AI solutions for the retail industry. Our mission is to bring the intelligence of modern machine learning directly to the in-store shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead the implementation of distributed, event-driven services bridging cloud intelligence and edge devices
- Set standards for service boundaries, data ownership, and system observability
- Architect the orchestration layer for LLM-driven agentic workflows
- Conduct deep design reviews and mentor mid-level engineers
- Champion a culture of building with AI and autonomous development agents
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in a Staff, Lead, or Principal capacity at a high-growth startup or scale-up
- Expert proficiency in Python, Go, or Java
- Expert proficiency in React and TypeScript
- Experience designing and operating event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Pulsar, or MQTT)
- Mastery of real-time protocols such as WebSockets, gRPC, SSE, or MQ
- AI-first mindset with optimized workflows using AI tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cloud-to-Edge orchestration and managing state across distributed systems
- High comfort level with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Prior exposure to retailTech, adTech, or marTech platforms
