Staff Front End Engineer - Mobile Platform

Responsibilities

• Build the frontend layer of the Portable Platform to allow React engineers to write once for web and React Native
• Lead the transition from a pure React Web codebase to a hybrid React Web and React Native environment
• Own web implementations of common abstractions and shared components
• Support the upskilling of 600+ frontend engineers through code standards and documentation
• Integrate SSR and React Server Components into the portable frontend layer
• Remain hands-on by writing code, design docs, and performing reviews

Requirements

• Deep expertise in React, including reconciliation and the rendering model
• Proven track record of driving measurable frontend performance gains
• Experience with portable or cross-platform codebases
• Understanding of the React Native mental model and its differences from React Web
• Ability to influence cross-team engineering through documentation and prototypes
• Hands-on experience with daily coding and design documentation
• Fluency in using AI tooling for engineering tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with SSR and React Server Components (RSC)
• Hands-on React Native experience
• Open-source contributions to React or the frontend ecosystem
• Experience building design systems or shared component libraries
