Staff Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the integration of features from development branches into product/release branches
• Manage and enforce branching and merging strategies
• Act as the custodian of the code repository, maintaining structure and hygiene
• Identify and prevent integration issues such as broken builds and regressions
• Ensure integrated code builds cleanly across supported configurations
• Run and gate merges on smoke, sanity, and regression tests
• Coordinate with feature development, validation, QA, and release teams
• Support release tagging, branching, and handoff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Strong experience with Git-based workflows (merge, rebase, cherry-pick)
• Solid understanding of software/firmware development lifecycles
• Hands-on experience with CI/build systems and integration gating
• Strong debugging skills for isolating integration failures
• Experience in firmware, embedded systems, or system software environments
• Familiarity with release management in multi-branch codebases
• Experience enforcing or defining branching and release policies
