Staff Engineer, SSD Validation

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level validation and qualification, performing end-to-end testing across SSDs, firmware, drivers, OS, and platform configurations
• Direct validation test plans from development through completion, including failure analysis and coordination with customer joint qualification (JQ) requirements
• Perform hands-on system bring-up, debug, and configuration, including OS installation and storage-stack verification
• Support customer and partner issue reproduction, converting field findings into internal test cases to improve validation coverage
• Develop and improve automated test frameworks and Python-based tools to drive shift-left validation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in SSD, storage, or semiconductor validation
• Deep knowledge of NVMe and PCIe protocols
• Hands-on expertise with Linux environments, system setup, and root-cause analysis of complex issues
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading customer joint qualification (JQ) efforts with OEMs or hyperscalers
• Familiarity with networked storage environments and multi-system qualification flows
• Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers (e.g., Lecroy, JDSU) and third-party SSD test platforms
• Strong understanding of PCIe topology, BIOS/firmware behavior, and Linux storage stacks
• Knowledge of NAND flash, storage architecture, and FTL development
