Staff Engineer, Silicon & Data Automation Systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade automation tools and Linux-based services to improve silicon and system yield engineering workflows.
• Build and manage reliable data pipelines to collect, transform, and validate engineering and manufacturing data across design, DFT, and diagnostics systems.
• Develop backend systems, APIs, and dashboards using Python, SQL, and modern frameworks to support complex semiconductor engineering needs.
• Implement AI-assisted engineering practices, using LLM-based coding agents and automation tools to increase development velocity and code quality.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across Linux servers, relational databases, and distributed engineering systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, validation, and yield engineering to convert manual pain points into automated solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related experience (or equivalent Master's/PhD experience).
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based development, including shell scripting and server-side troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and backend system development.
• Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
• Proven experience building automation that processes and integrates large, complex technical datasets.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems in a collaborative environment.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., LLM-based coding agents) to improve productivity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor domains such as silicon design, DFT, validation, diagnostics, or yield engineering.
• Familiarity with semiconductor data formats like STDF, KLARF, or wafer maps.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Django and building REST APIs.
• Knowledge of database technologies including Oracle, PL/SQL, or ODBC.
• Experience with log analytics, monitoring, or observability tools like Splunk.
• Experience working in a global team environment with regular overlap with U.S. time zones.
