Staff Engineer: Physical Design

Responsibilities

• Design digital blocks such as control logic, BIST, and DfT using semicustom methodologies.
• Define interface, behavior, and functional requirements for digital blocks.
• Support the full RTL-to-GDS block-level workflow, including placement, CTS, routing, and timing closure.
• Perform functional and gate-level verification, including equivalence checking.
• Develop testbenches for behavioral and synthesizable designs.
• Collaborate with block owners and integration teams to ensure full-chip integration.
• Support silicon bring-up, post-silicon validation, and debug.
• Develop and maintain semicustom scripting environments to improve design efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in RTL design and PnR flow.
• Proficiency with EDA tools including Synopsys Fusion Compiler, PrimeTime, ICC2, and Formality.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Cadence Xcelium, NCSim, or Synopsys VCS.
• Strong understanding of CMOS circuit design fundamentals.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with clocking concepts, synthesis constraining, and multi-corner STA.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with power analysis tools like ANSYS RedHawk or Totem.
