Staff Engineer - Linux Kernel and Device Driver

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel modules and subsystems
• Develop device drivers for hardware interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, and more
• Own kernel-level aspects of system integration and board bring-up
• Diagnose and resolve complex kernel-level issues such as panics and race conditions
• Partner with hardware teams to define requirements and co-design interfaces
• Contribute patches to the broader Linux kernel community
• Profile the kernel and drivers using tools like ftrace, perf, and kdump

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in Linux kernel development and device drivers
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, memory management, and process scheduling
• Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly programming for embedded systems
• Experience with debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach, and oscilloscopes
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux, BSPs, and bootloaders like U-Boot
• Familiarity with hardware protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, eMMC, and Ethernet
• Experience with Yocto Project, Buildroot, and cross-compilation toolchains
