Staff Engineer, GaN New Product Development

Responsibilities

• Design new high-voltage GaN products to meet specific cost, performance, and reliability specifications.
• Coordinate the movement of engineering lots through wafer fab, assembly, and testing to ensure timely project execution.
• Analyze on-wafer and in-package test results to ensure compliance with design requirements.
• Plan and coordinate product qualification campaigns and drive root cause investigations for quality issues.
• Maintain project schedules using GANTT charts and communicate project status, risks, and key results.
• Collaborate closely with headquarters in California and fabrication facilities in Japan and Southeast Asia.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience or a PhD with 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in high-voltage GaN device design and technologies.
• Familiarity with layout environments such as Cadence or L-Edit.
• Knowledge of GaN manufacturing flows, including wafer fab, probe, packaging, and testing.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using JMP and MS Office.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with reliability physics and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of JEDEC and AEC-Q101 qualification standards.
