Staff Engineer - Formality Team

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and own the core infrastructure of the Formality verification engine
• Drive runtime, memory, and capacity improvements by profiling production designs and re-engineering hotspots
• Design and harden parallel architectures to scale equivalence checking to modern multi-core machines
• Take end-to-end technical ownership of complex customer escalations, including root-cause analysis and bug fixing
• Initiate design reviews and raise the bar for code quality and unit-test coverage
• Collaborate across teams to enable necessary abstractions for future product capabilities

Requirements

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (or MS/PhD in a related discipline)
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in large, production C++ codebases
• Expert command of modern C++, STL, templates, and idiomatic memory management
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, including graphs, hash tables, trees, and BDDs
• Proven ability to profile, diagnose, and optimize for runtime and scalability on large workloads
• Working knowledge of HDLs such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
• Proficiency with TCL, Python, and shell scripting for tool infrastructure and automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with synthesis, equivalence checking, or related EDA flows
• Experience with AI-assisted developer tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Demonstrated technical leadership and experience mentoring other engineers
