About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural direction for real-time control systems and lead technical discussions
- Design system controllers on ARM SoC, including user-space drivers and libraries
- Write high-performance, production-quality code in C/C++ and Rust
- Define and implement essential control algorithms and robust control loops
- Lead board testing and hardware bring-up strategies
- Guide junior and senior engineers through code reviews and technical coaching
- Drive the evolution of development processes, tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure
Requirements
- BS/MS in EE, CE, or CS with 8–12 years of experience, or a PhD with 8+ years
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card holder)
- Mastery of complex embedded system architecture
- Deep understanding of hardware-software interfaces (TCP, UART, MMAP)
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using profilers and debuggers
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives across multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with production Rust systems and async runtimes
- Experience with embedded Linux and C/C++ systems programming
- Expert-level knowledge of PID, state-space, and adaptive control algorithms
- Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and digital filter design
- Background in SoC/FPGA devices and Linux kernel/device driver development
- Proficiency in Python for scientific libraries and tooling
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, and voltmeters
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for hardware/firmware
