About the role
Responsibilities
- Bridge the gap between IT systems and laboratory automation by designing requirements for new test systems and implementing changes.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Laboratory IT systems, including LIS upgrades and validation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and enhance automated workflows in a complex clinical laboratory environment.
- Provide technical engineering support and troubleshooting for automation, IT, and software applications used in the lab.
- Manage complex projects involving instrumentation installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement to drive efficiency.
- Mentor service engineers and laboratory technicians, providing technical guidance and process expertise.
- Ensure all instrumentation and automation meet safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards (FDA, CLIA, CAP).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience).
- 8+ years of engineering experience in a relevant industry.
- Proven experience with laboratory automation and process workflows.
- Strong ability to manage complex projects, define protocols, and perform data-driven analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or LIS integration.
- Experience working in CAP/CLIA or other highly regulated production environments.
- Background in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or Biological Sciences.
- Expertise in process optimization involving complex software and hardware components.
