Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies and design improvements for water distribution systems, treatment facilities, and processes
• Complete design plans and technical specifications for water treatment and facility projects
• Create bid documents and facilitate the bidding process
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans and specifications under PE oversight
• Provide inspection and administration for construction projects
• Perform engineering analyses related to new and existing infrastructure
• Develop conceptual plans and cost estimates for future capital improvement projects
• Represent the company at project meetings with local, state, or utility agencies
• Review construction plans from developers and consultants for compliance with requirements
• Prepare operation and maintenance manuals

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• 0 to 3 years of experience in the design and construction of water treatment, facilities, or process-related projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, or chemical improvements within a municipal environment
• Experience managing all phases of projects from conception to completion
• IDNR Grade II Water Distribution Operator and/or Grade II Water Treatment Operator License
