Staff Engineer, Data

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL/ELT processes and determine transformation requirements to move structured and unstructured data to new physical data models
• Implement strategies for cleaning and preparing data for analysis, including developing data imputation algorithms
• Optimize the performance of big data and machine learning systems
• Build APIs for application integration and support advanced analytics and business intelligence
• Work within multi-functional groups and distributed teams to achieve common objectives using Agile frameworks

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Big Data Engineering and processing using the Hadoop stack (Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Spark, HBase, etc.)
• Proficiency in developing ETL/ELT processing using Apache Ni-Fi
• Strong programming skills in Python or Scala
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and database management
• Experience with data warehouse modeling and cloud-based data engineering
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Machine Learning models and AI development
• Skills in UI development and data validation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with distributed teams
