Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the full detection stack including heuristics, threshold calibration, and rule systems
• Design and maintain anomaly detection pipelines for straggler node detection and GPU health
• Drive detection fidelity by reducing false positives and increasing signal coverage
• Evaluate and integrate machine learning and reinforcement learning techniques
• Ship customer-facing features including alert rule engines and control plane APIs
• Build new systems from scratch and scale existing ones for a global fleet
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and direct coaching

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production software
• Deep expertise in anomaly detection, heuristics, or ML/RL systems for infrastructure
• Strong foundations in distributed systems and scalable backend architecture
• Proficiency in modern compiled or systems languages such as Go, Rust, C++, or Java
• Fluency with time-series data, telemetry pipelines, and observability primitives
• Proven ability to reason about precision/recall trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPU profiling tools like Nsight or NCCL Inspector
• Background in observability platforms or products
• Experience with reinforcement learning applied to operational problems
• Familiarity with large-scale fleet management or cloud infrastructure
