Staff Engineer - Civil (Water/Wastewater/Conveyance)

Responsibilities

• Lead complex civil engineering design tasks for industrial water and wastewater facilities, including site layouts, grading, and pump stations.
• Develop and validate engineering calculations, drawings, technical memoranda, and Basis of Design Reports (BODR).
• Function as a technical discipline lead, providing guidance and oversight to engineers and CAD technicians.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary global teams (process, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure integrated facility designs.
• Ensure all designs comply with Black & Veatch Quality Management Systems and applicable US or international design standards.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements for assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in civil engineering.
• Experience in industrial water and wastewater infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of US and international design standards and codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–18+ years of relevant experience in industrial water and wastewater infrastructure design.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects such as desalination, ZLD, or reuse systems for international clients.
• Professional registration (PE, CEng, or equivalent).
