Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define transverse technical standards and architecture guidelines
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence including clean code, testing, and observability
• Use DORA metrics and incident data to prioritize technical improvements
• Design complex distributed systems using REST, OAuth2, and event-driven architecture
• Mentor Senior Engineers and lead technical workshops and training sessions
• Align architecture, security, and product teams around shared technical strategies

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of software development experience
• Proven experience in a strategic, transverse role (Staff, Principal, or equivalent)
• Deep expertise in software quality, testing, and observability
• Strong ability to lead through influence without hierarchical authority
• Mastery of distributed systems and system-level design
• Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex technical concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java, PHP, MySQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, and GCP
• Knowledge of FinOps and economic trade-offs in technical decision-making
