Staff Engineer Applications

Responsibilities

• Provide product application support for Medium Voltage GaN products in DC/DC applications (e.g., IBCs, PSUs)
• Design and test new product evaluation, reference, and demo boards
• Validate new products and solutions for telecom and data center applications
• Create go-to-market evaluation boards, reference design schematics, application notes, and design tools
• Support customer design-in activities, including schematic and layout reviews, board bring-up, and system-level debugging
• Provide technical training to FAEs, sales teams, and customers
• Travel approximately 10% of the time to provide on-site customer support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field
• Proven experience in DC/DC converter design
• Extensive knowledge of DC/DC system-level designs, including testing, debugging, and device selection
• Strong understanding of non-isolated topologies (buck, boost, multiphase) and isolated topologies (half bridge, full bridge, LLC)
• Proficiency in software tools such as Altium Designer, Matlab/Mathcad, PLECS, or Simplis/Simetrix
• Solid understanding of switching power components like MOSFETs and IGBTs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GaN and SiC MOSFETs
• Experience with other power electronics designs such as motor control, solar, or charger adapters
• Familiarity with digital control using FPGA or MCU/DSP
• Expertise in magnetics, EMI/EMC, or board layout
