Staff Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead high-level electrical architecture for quantum sensors, balancing size, weight, power, and performance (SWaPC)
• Own the full PCB development cycle from requirement gathering to performance verification
• Provide technical mentorship and conduct design reviews for the electrical engineering team
• Partner with physicists and mechanical, software, and optical engineers on system requirements
• Assist with board bring-up, debugging, and system-level integration
• Support manufacturing by troubleshooting issues and optimizing boards for yield and testability
• Maintain precise design records within a cloud-based PLM system

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8–12 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required for export control compliance
• 5+ years of professional experience in complex, mixed-signal PCBA designs
• Expertise in high-density PCB design including fine-pitch BGAs and high-speed differential pairs
• Deep understanding of SoCs, FPGAs, and MCUs
• Mastery of signal integrity, power distribution networks, and EMI/EMC-aware layout
• Proficiency with laboratory electronic instrumentation for hardware debugging
• Experience using PLM systems for design and ECO management

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Altium Designer
• Experience designing RF circuits on traditional PCBs or ceramic substrates
• Experience integrating electronics with lasers, AOMs, and photodetectors
• Knowledge of thermal analysis and component derating
• Foundational skills in ASIC design, simulation, and verification
• Background in precision sensors, atomic clocks, or Inertial Navigation Systems (INS)
