About the role

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and optimize electrical power systems, components, equipment, networks, and associated control systems
  • Lead electrical installation and system integration design efforts, including utility interconnection and microgrid architectures
  • Review and manage third-party EPC electrical designs while performing internal engineering activities
  • Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analyses
  • Select electrical components and equipment based on engineering specifications and performance requirements
  • Analyze operating data and system performance to validate designs and identify optimization opportunities
  • Apply risk analysis techniques to evaluate power system failure modes and develop mitigation strategies
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to other engineers on complex engineering projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and utility stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience working with electrical power systems
  • Experience designing large industrial power systems within EPC environments
  • Experience with utility interconnection design and medium-voltage power distribution systems
  • Strong knowledge of power system protection analysis and implementation
  • Experience with medium-voltage systems, substation design, and SCADA systems
  • Field experience supporting power generation assets like microgrids or energy storage
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency with power system modeling and simulation software
