Staff Detection Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead detection engineering for Fluidstack's IT surface, including cross-domain detections bridging IT, OT, or physical surfaces
• Author and tune production detections as code using CI/CD and peer review
• Apply AI and machine learning to build behavioral analytics and anomaly detection at scale
• Develop novel detection tooling, including agentic capabilities using LLMs for triage and investigation
• Set engineering standards, coverage methodology, and quality metrics for the detection engineering discipline
• Conduct threat and security research to inform detection logic and close the detection-to-response loop

Requirements

• Experience building and tuning production detections as code measured by precision and recall
• Fluency across SIEM, EDR, and cloud/IT telemetry
• Experience engineering detection pipelines with CI/CD and peer review
• Experience applying ML or behavioral analytics to detection at scale
• Proficiency with LLM-based tooling for triage and investigation
• Ability to define coverage methodology and quality metrics for a detection function
• Experience performing threat research that drives new detections

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with detection-as-code frameworks like Sigma or Panther
• Experience with OT or physical-surface detection
• Experience building agentic/LLM security tooling
• Experience building a detection function from the ground up
