Staff Design & Quality Control Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead high-speed hardware design from initial specification discussions through to design execution for custom hardware.
• Manage component selection for core and peripheral components in collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Oversee supplier quality by evaluating performance, conducting audits, and improving incoming material quality.
• Develop and implement inspection and testing procedures for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
• Maintain comprehensive quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action logs.
• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to procedures and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits to uphold ISO 9001 compliance.
• Investigate customer complaints and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, and 8D.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in High-speed Hardware Design (PCBA).
• Proficiency in Altium design tools for schematics and PCB design.
• Strong understanding of high-speed (Multigigabit or RF) design requirements.
• Deep knowledge of quality control methodologies such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry-specific standards such as AS9100.
• Experience acting as a subject matter expert or informal team lead/coach.
