Staff Database Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Oracle databases as the primary database technology
• Maintain and optimize secondary databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server
• Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions
• Drive automation-first initiatives using Terraform, CI/CD, and various scripting languages
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex database and OS-level issues
• Manage database scaling, migrations, and security across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Participate in incident management and on-call rotations to ensure service reliability

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in Database Administration (DBA) or Platform Engineering
• Strong multi-cloud expertise, with proficiency in at least two major providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Deep expertise in Oracle database administration and performance tuning
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Advanced Linux OS skills (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) including file system and resource management
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with containerization and orchestration, specifically Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in SaaS or Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) environments
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or the ELK stack
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
