About the role
Responsibilities
- Shape the direction of key data science areas including segmentation, recommendation systems, forecasting, and churn prediction
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success to drive data-driven decisions
- Manage stakeholders, define project OKRs, and communicate results to non-technical audiences
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists through project planning and code reviews
- Build self-serving internal data products to simplify data access across the company
- Represent Databricks at academic and industrial conferences
Requirements
- 7+ years of data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics experience in high-growth companies
- Extensive experience in end-to-end development and deployment of data-driven products
- Familiarity with product data science including adoption, churn, and cohort analysis
- Strong coding skills in Scala or Python with knowledge of software engineering principles
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using R and Python
- Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark and proficiency in SQL
- MS or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Physics
