Staff Data Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs
• Build and maintain data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads
• Deploy and manage applications in containerized and orchestrated environments
• Integrate services with data storage systems, relational databases, and data platforms
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions
• Collaborate with data engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
• Monitor and improve production services and platform reliability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5–10+ years of experience in backend development or platform engineering
• Strong programming experience in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience with data processing systems like Spark, Kafka, or Hive
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-level data platforms or analytics infrastructure
• Experience with streaming systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with data warehouse, ELT/ETL, or big data ecosystem patterns
• Experience operating production services at scale with observability tools
• Exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or IoT data domains
• Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to engineers
