Staff Data Engineer

NexHealth is building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural evolution of the data warehouse, modeling layer, and pipeline structure
• Refactor core data models to support fast, self-serve access and shared understanding across teams
• Build reliable ingestion and transformation systems that abstract over messy or fragmented inputs
• Replace brittle vendor-based pipelines with scalable, maintainable infrastructure
• Build in observability, alerting, and validation to ensure platform scalability
• Collaborate with Staff-level analysts and engineers to unblock workflows
• Partner with software engineers to manage upstream schema changes and database shifts
• Define and enforce clear data contracts and interface boundaries

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
• Advanced fluency in SQL and Python
• Experience with modern managed data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
• Proven history of building reliable, documented, high-trust data platforms from fragmented systems
• Ability to operate independently at a Staff level with high ownership
• Experience in strong engineering cultures or top-tier product environments
