Staff Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput reverse-ETL replication pipelines
• Lead the migration of custom data processing pipelines to a modern, scalable data architecture
• Evaluate storage and data modeling strategies across MySQL, OpenSearch, BigQuery, and ClickHouse
• Collaborate with backend and analytics engineers to design high-performance data structures
• Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring and system reliability
• Maintain high standards for data infrastructure stability and long-term maintainability

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in Data Platform Engineering
• More than 7 years of total experience in Software Engineering
• Proficient in Python for custom data loading and validation logic
• Deep experience with automated, event-driven batch architectures and orchestration
• Advanced understanding of relational and analytical database engines (MySQL, ClickHouse, OpenSearch, BigQuery)
• Experience with observability and telemetry tools like Datadog
• Strong communication skills to convey complex architectural concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern data orchestrators like Dagster
• Practical knowledge of dbt for data transformation
• Domain expertise in E-commerce, Retail-Tech, or AdTech
• Ability to read object-oriented PHP and frameworks like Laravel
