Staff Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-throughput Reverse ETL replication pipelines
• Evaluate data storage and modeling strategies across MySQL, OpenSearch, BigQuery, and ClickHouse
• Lead the migration of custom data processing pipelines into modern scalable architectures
• Partner with Backend and Analytics Engineers to map performant data structures
• Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring and system reliability
• Set engineering standards and evaluate technical trade-offs

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data platform engineering
• 7+ years of total professional engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Expert experience in building automated, event-driven batch architectures
• Advanced understanding of relational and analytical database engines (MySQL, ClickHouse, OpenSearch, BigQuery)
• Experience with observability and telemetry tools like Datadog
• Strong communication and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern data orchestrators like Dagster
• Working knowledge of dbt
• Domain expertise in e-commerce, retail tech, or ad-tech
• Familiarity with reading object-oriented PHP and Laravel
