Staff CPU/NPU Architecture RTL Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance, energy-efficient CPU and AI processors for Snapdragon processors and AI inference engines
• Design and implement IP blocks for the Hexagon NPU team
• Perform RTL design, coding, and micro-architecture development
• Execute power-management, circuit design, and PPA (Power, Performance, and Area) optimizations
• Support debug architecture and CPU sub-system logic design

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (or related field) with 4+ years of ASIC design experience
• OR Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
• OR PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of CPU/AI processor micro-architecture and architecture
• Proficiency in RTL design and coding
• Experience with power-management and circuit design

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in Computer Arithmetic, Instruction fetch, scheduling, and register renaming
• Experience with Fixed-Point and Floating-Point design
• Knowledge of Matrix Multiply engines and Vector Extensions
• Experience with memory sub-systems, including load/store, caches, atomics, coherence, and consistency
• Familiarity with branch prediction, out-of-order execution, dispatch, and schedulers
• Experience with multi-processor and multi-threaded systems or RISC-V
