Staff Controls Engineer, Robotics & Vision

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead on multiple concurrent Robotics & Vision projects
• Mentor and guide less experienced robotics and vision controls engineers
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Develop, test, and program advanced robotics and vision systems integrated with PLCs, SCADA, and MES
• Serve as an advanced escalation point for production operations and maintenance teams
• Troubleshoot complex robotics, vision, and electrical issues

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience with robotic systems in manufacturing
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
• Advanced PLC programming in Siemens TIA-Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000
• Advanced proficiency in FANUC and FANUC ROBOGUIDE
• Expertise in Keyence and Cognex vision systems
• Deep familiarity with Functional Safety systems (FANUC DCS, Siemens ProfiSafe, Rockwell CIP Safety)
• Ability to read and redline complex electrical schematics
• Proficiency with iba and Octoplant tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Beckhoff TwinCat
• Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition Perspective, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FTView ME)
• Knowledge of OT Networks and Siemens Scalance Managed Network Switches
• Design experience using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks
• Experience with IPC/Panel PC setup and control panel fabrication
