Staff Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and management of a bank-wide Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) platform.
• Serve as a senior technical leader and subject-matter expert for Kubernetes and cloud-native systems.
• Design, implement, and refactor code to ensure high availability, integrity, and reliability.
• Lead design discussions focused on security, scalability, and implementation best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship and support to junior and emerging cloud engineers.
• Manage infrastructure, monitoring, and troubleshooting with Level 3 support responsibilities.
• Collaborate with architects to design solutions and scope complex technical tasks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience with container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 5+ years of experience using CI/CD tools.
• Proven experience designing cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related mathematical discipline.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and secrets management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience working within Canadian financial institutions.
• Full stack experience in product development.
