About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative technologies and products for the Aerospace segment to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key technical projects and provide solutions to complex challenges.
- Perform material evaluations, formulation work, and problem-solving in support of new product development.
- Serve as a technical expert in Aerospace products, providing training and communicating results to broader teams.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and make technical recommendations.
- Write technical reports and capture intellectual property.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and documentation.
- Mentor and train new or lower-level chemists and technicians.
- Travel for manufacturing support, line trials, and customer visits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math field.
- 7 years of laboratory experience working with 2K Epoxy/urethane products and technologies.
- At least 3 years of experience within the coatings industry.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Polymer Science or a related Chemistry field.
- 5-7 years of experience specifically in automotive or Aerospace coatings.
- Experience with solvent-based and waterborne technologies, monocoat, and basecoat/clear coat products.
- Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology and tool usage.
