Staff Battery Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for multilayer and cylindrical cells
• Apply advanced data analysis, statistical methods, and modeling techniques to interpret test results
• Perform thorough failure analysis on prototype cells and customer qualification units
• Support internal and external development programs by designing and refining cell prototyping processes
• Develop and integrate novel testing capabilities at the material, electrode, and cell levels
• Communicate complex ideas and critical results to external partners and internal teams

Requirements

• B.S. in engineering or science with 8+ years of experience (or fewer with an advanced degree)
• Solid understanding of battery performance and failure mechanisms (electrolyte degradation, swell, Li plating)
• Experience with characterization and integration of novel battery components
• Experience with data, modeling, and cell prototyping
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in the comprehensive performance evaluation of battery components including electrolytes, anodes, cathodes, foils, and separators
• Proficiency in supporting stacked pouch and cylindrical prototype builds
