Staff Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, operate, and troubleshoot production issues in cloud-based services (especially AWS)
• Participate in product evolution prioritization, seeking the best business value based on data
• Tackle and resolve challenges related to scalability, maintainability, and reliability
• Build frameworks and tools to identify performance bottlenecks, such as load testing and chaos engineering
• Measure, monitor, and optimize backend performance to ensure high availability and fault tolerance

Requirements

• Previous experience designing, developing, and maintaining microservices using Java, Kotlin, and/or Go
• Experience with asynchronous communication and concurrency challenges in distributed systems, especially with Kafka
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including queries and data modeling
• Knowledge of Linux, Infrastructure as Code, networking, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience handling applications that support millions of transactions per day, 24/7
• Passion for software development, object-oriented, and functional programming
• Proficiency in automated testing, distributed systems, and secure development concepts
