Staff Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and build decentralized, privacy-preserving, secure, scalable, and reliable backend systems
• Provide technical guidance to the engineering team and lead complex, cross-functional projects
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with senior leadership and product managers
• Shape the technical roadmap and strategy for the World ID platform
• Drive mission-critical software design, development, and scaling

Requirements

• Experience in senior technical leadership positions
• Proven experience leading complex initiatives from start to finish
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide engineering teams
• Deep expertise in designing and implementing reliable and scalable software systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of designing exceptional backend systems
• Experience in distributed systems or identity management platforms
• Ability to master and apply new knowledge and skills quickly
