Staff Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design systems and make architectural calls under ambiguity
• Set the technical direction for the Submission Processing team
• Build and scale LLM-based systems that process billions of unstructured data points
• Extract precise information and surface insights for high-stakes insurance decisions
• Drive projects to completion with minimal oversight

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with LLMs in production and deploying them at scale
• Proficiency in Python or other strong Object-Oriented languages
• Experience with AWS and serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2)
• Experience with asynchronous workflows and cloud environments
• Proficiency with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with document pipelines
• Experience processing large amounts of data
