Responsibilities
- Shape the technical direction of backend systems and lead complex projects
- Make architectural decisions affecting the whole platform
- Drive technical initiatives including system architecture and technical strategy
- Own ambiguous, high-stakes projects and identify system gaps
- Set standards for code review, system design, and operational excellence
- Mentor other engineers through collaboration on real work
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience
- Proven track record of leading complex projects
- Ability to turn vague problems into clear technical approaches
- Experience building and scaling systems
- Proficiency in Python (Django/FastAPI) or TypeScript (Node.js)
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or Postgres
