Staff Backend Engineer, Agentic AI

Responsibilities

• Design and operate distributed, event-driven systems that process high-volume, high-sensitivity financial data.
• Build production-grade APIs and services in Python using FastAPI and Pydantic to power agentic workflows and AI copilots.
• Own end-to-end data architecture, including schema design, event models, and storage layers optimized for scale and auditability.
• Develop resilient infrastructure primitives such as queues, retries, idempotency, and observability.
• Work at the intersection of systems and AI to build feedback loops that improve both models and system behavior.
• Partner with ML and product teams to productionize research-grade ideas into customer-facing systems.
• Define the architecture of an AI-native financial stack.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with Python at scale.
• Deep knowledge of SQL/NoSQL database design.
• Extensive experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or microservices.
• Familiarity with GCP services (e.g., Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, KMS).
• Strong grasp of security and compliance best practices.
• Passion for building the backend infrastructure that powers intelligent, autonomous products.
