About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of significant features and critical product components.
  • Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines to support core product functionality.
  • Drive system design decisions, balancing performance, reliability, scalability, and cost.
  • Define and automate quality metrics, including testing strategies and observability.
  • Improve operational readiness through deployment automation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical guidance.
  • Influence long-term technical direction and engineering best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on coding experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping production systems within product teams.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Strong expertise in system design and building scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, and automated testing.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building data-driven or ML-enabled systems.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, or performance optimization.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, streaming systems, or large-scale data processing.
  • Exposure to modern AI tools or integrations.
  • Contributions to open source projects, technical blogs, or conference talks.
