Staff Applied Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve data sets and models with an emphasis on scalability, quality and maintainability
• Own and lead exploration and implementation of new areas of science application in the product ecosystem
• Write clean, maintainable R/Python code following best practices
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations and Business teams to design reliable solutions
• Provide metrics and visibility into model quality, bias and performance

Requirements

• 5+ years experience applying Data Science methods to production problems
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and operate with high autonomy
• Proficiency in R or Python
• Experience diving into complex codebases
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Past experience as a team lead
• Actuarial experience or experience applying models to risk evaluation
• Experience in computer vision or photo analysis
