Staff Applied AI Engineer

About the Company

DOSS is building an Operations Cloud for the real world. It is a modern, AI-native platform for physical product businesses to manage the flow of goods, dollars, and data in real time across procurement, inventory, orders, fulfillment, and finance.

Responsibilities

• Own the applied AI architecture end-to-end including model selection, orchestration, RAG, evals, and guardrails
• Build Dossbot into the primary interface for operations via natural-language search and automation
• Engineer AI-assisted tooling for customer schemas and workflow definitions
• Design agentic workflows that are permission-aware, auditable, and tenant-isolated
• Stand up eval and observability infrastructure to measure quality and detect anomalous behavior
• Partner with product, design, and Forward Deployed teams to deliver high-leverage AI use cases
• Mentor and shape engineering culture regarding LLM-powered systems

Requirements

• Experience shipping LLM-powered features or agents to production at scale
• Deep hands-on work with foundation model APIs, RAG pipelines, tool use, and prompt engineering
• Experience building eval harnesses and guardrails for non-deterministic systems
• Strong backend fundamentals in system design, Postgres, and cloud services
• Ability to work from 0 to 1 in ambiguous settings
